Do you prefer your teenagers moody and physically awkward, somewhere between Welcome to the Dollhouse and Adventureland on the scale of unrelenting angst? Sassy Pants may do the trick. It's about a high school student (played by Awkward's Ashley Rickards) struggling to exist between two divorced parents (one overbearing and neurotic, the other recently gay and emotionally distanced). She wants to do her own thing, but everything is the worst! Sure, you've seen it before, but this one stars a grown up Haley Joel Osment. What more do you need?
Elsewhere, there's bad clothing, joyless/chaotic retail jobs and the misery of being stuck at home. High school, who misses it? Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn stars as the mother, with The Drew Carey Show's Diedrich Bader as Dad. Osmont, who we haven't seen much of in a while, apparently plays Bader's physically fit emo boyfriend. It'll be the directorial debut of Coley Sohn, who hasn't done much else of note (IMDb notes a few uncredited appearances on Desperate Housewives). There isn't a release date, but stay tuned.
