Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new entry in the Best Trailer of the Year contest that we just made up! Presenting the red-band clip for Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive, starring Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt driver who gets tangled up with some very bad people. (Man, he's really having some week.)

The trailer first appeared at a Comic-Con panel yesterday to rapturous applause from the audience (and Guillermo Del Toro, who was there), and we can understand why. Things to love here: A nocturnal L.A. that recalls the eerily empty and glowing streets of Michael Mann classic Collateral; Ryan Gosling's knack for a bit of the old ultra-violence; Bryan Cranston!; Albert Brooks taking a career detour as the villain; a hyper-stylish look and feel; and then, finally, that creepy face above.
