So the Mysteries of Shitsburgh Pittsburgh trailer was released online today, and right away I recognized its star from 29 trailers ago, when I was checking out another promo clip from a long-shelved coming-of-age movie based on a novel from the eighties. Jon Foster, former Abercrombie model and brother to intense character actor Ben, had a starring role in The Informers, that coked-out movie that absolutely bombed at Sundance and guaranteed itself bargain-bin status, despite a relatively top-tier cast.

Now here he is again, in another movie that got slammed by critics at Sundance a year ago and has yet to see the light of a projector. Meanwhile, his brother Ben is crushing it in memorable, oft-terrifying roles in films like Alpha Dog and 3:10 to Yuma . So what is it with this guy? Is he a movie-killer? Does he just have bad luck? Why is he the leading man in two films already without delivering a bona fide hit? Is he still one half of Jophia? Is he just a pretty face? Is everyone involved in his future projects worried? Why is Peter Sarsgaard reprising his role in Garden State? Why are they remaking Garden State? And do people who look like Sienna Miller really live in Pittsburgh?
