Oof, you did a number on yourself last night. The 2:00 a.m. lamb gyro from a street meat vendor was not, strictly speaking, necessary. The only thing that will cancel that weird buzzing tone you probably shouldn’t be hearing is soft, lush, zone-out music. Here you go.
“Ground Glass” may not sound particularly soothing, but any collaboration between one-man bands Foxes in Fiction (Warren Hildebrand) and Benoît Pioulard (Thomas Meluch), who share a label in Wool Recordings, is bound to possess a heavenly bent. This track is side A of an as yet unreleased 7” that hits stores and websites at the end of February.
Anyway, enjoy this warmly cavernous thing that will make you forget what an embarrassment you were at the bar yesterday. Its sculptural guitar and drifting vocals will carry you heavenward, out of your rank, unwashed body. But even that will only last six minutes. After which you may put your pants on.
