pf_main_hazelwood.jpg Music legend Lee Hazlewood died on Saturday at his home outside of Las Vegas after a prolonged struggle with cancer. The 78-year-old Leonard Cohen-lite is best known for his work with Nancy Sinatra, for whom he wrote and produced These Boots Were Made for Walking and Some Velvet Morning. Together, they released three iconic albums. He fancied himself a bit of ladies' manand he was. Toward the end of his unforgettable career, Hazlewood released one final album, Cake or Death (download "Nothing" right now!), to critical acclaim. Everyone from alternative types like Michael Stipe to, um, less alternative types like Jessica Simpson, were huge fans. Sadly, our boots are sort of dragging today. Nick Haramis
