Wolf Parade, Wolf Eyes, AIDS Wolf, even Patrick Wolf... the list goes on. Now, Junior Senior’s Lars Vognstrup has teamed up wih Kristian Godtfredsen, previously of Sleeping Agents, to bring us Wolfkin. Their debut album Brand New Pants delivers 13 psychedelic tracks, moving away from the giddy dance beats of Jr. Sr. to delve into something more akin to David Bowie. While every song exudes the harmonizing melodies expected of a male duo, the heavy use of synthesizers and mellow drumbeats leave little distinction between songs. “Island of Surprise,” however, lives up to its name, a toe-tapping refreshment in the otherwise murky sea of trippy head-bobbing. —Chelsea Bahr
