Here is a very cute music video for Wilco's "Dawned On Me," off their most recent album The Whole Love. It shows an animated Jeff Tweedy and company playing their ditty on the docks in front of the S.S. Wilco, while Popeye characters like Olive Oyl, Bluto, and, of course, Popeye, have all kinds of slapstick fun. This is the second Wilco/Popeye collaboration, following last Sunday's Popeye comic strip in which the S.S. Wilco was officially debuted as a carrier of Wilco Brand Spinach (naturally).

The song is absolutely pleasant in that Wilco way, complete with Tweedy's distinctive dad croon and a neat little solo courtesy of guitar wunderkind Nels Cline. I've always liked Wilco and Tweedy more after reading this A.V. Club interview in which he responded to some blog criticism with, "Our goal is to make some shit that we fucking like to play and feel good about, with the knowledge that that doesn’t hurt anybody. You’re basically doing something that you love to do, and you’re not really hurting anybody." Totally unrelated, but what an ethical mensch. The Whole Love is out right now, if you're a fan.
