On Wednesday, Chanel fêted the release of its new fine jewelry collection alongside, say, 350 of its closest admirers, New York's finest fashion icons, Hollywood types, and filthy-rich scenesters. Indie darling Selma Blair, "Grey's Anatomy" doc Ellen Pompeo, "Gossip Girl" stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, nightlife moguls Amy Sacco and Simon Hammerstein, TV personality Mary Alice Stephenson, supermodel Christy Turlington and director Edward Burns, Style.com's Candy Pratts Price, catwalker Helena Christensen, writer Candace Bushnell, socialites Fabiola Beracasa and Allison Sarofim, actress Julia Stiles, designers Tory Burch and Charlotte Ronson, and model Erin Wasson—many of whom were decidedly decked out in Coco—sat down for a three-course meal (we opted for the goat cheese appetizer, cod with risotto and string beans, and ice cream sundae for dessert) amid ornate orchid arrangements, gilded mirrors, and celestial ceiling projections. Music was provided by deejays the MisShapes, Paul Sevigny, and Stella Schnabel. Jewels were flown in from Paris for the event, which was, needless to say, pretty swank. —N.H.
