The Empire State Building hosts weddings only once a year, on February 14, and it's not a first-come first-served kind of deal. Nope, you're going to have to work for it. For V-Day 2010, The Empire State Building has partnered with The Knot so that 14 lucky couples will be able to say (or renew) their vows and get hitched (or re-hitched) on the very top of the building while the tower blazes red, pink, and white in honor of cupid and his arrow of love. Awwwwwwwwww.

To win the honor of saying "I Do" at the top of the famous skyscraper, you're going to have to beat out hundreds (if not thousands) of submissions on The Knot's website. The contest has been live for less than a week and there's already about 60 entries as of this writing. To get a shot at winning the wedding in the sky, you have to submit a photo and a short story about why you want to get married in the freezing cold with a killer view. The winners will be chosen based on originality, creativity, and connection to the Empire State Building (my guess if that the proposal was there, you're a shoo-in). Thirteen couples will get a free, private 30-minute ceremony with up to 20 guests, while one grand prize winner will win the top honor with the ceremony in the 86th floor observatory plus 40 guests. Every couple will get a bottle of champs and an Empire State photo album. Submissions are due December 15, with the winner chosen the very next day. Send in your entry here.
