Even through the smog, you can see the Forbidden City some miles away. Soaring 1,100-feet high and comprising the top 16 floors of an 81-story commercial building, China World Summit Wing will be the highest hotel in China, and one of the highest in the world. Located in the World Summit complex in Beijing's financial district, China World Summit Wing will also have the highest bar in China, destined to be a buzzy hot spot at a time when the city's nightlife is at its peak. Furthermore, it will flaunt the highest indoor pool, fitness center, spa, and restaurants—all with ridiculous, unbeatable views—connected by a central glass "bubble lift" elevator that conjures the Jetsons via Blade Runner.

Operated by the luxury hotel chain Shangri-La, China World Summit Wing will have 278 guestrooms and suites, the dimensions of the guestrooms averaging a whopping 700-square-feet. Rooms are equipped with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, IPod docking stations, free Internet and a complimentary mini-bar (you heard us right). To boot, turn-down service will include a fortune cookie with a personalized message. All the spacious bathrooms—most come with a dizzyingly spectacular view—will feature Bvlgari bath amenities. Got a case of vertigo? Tune in to the 15-inch bathroom mirror LCD screen. The hotel will have a soft opening on August 15, with introductory rates starting at only $1988 RMB (about $293 USD).
