We are a motley but big-tent minority, us Friday Night Lights obsessives. Our ranks include red-staters and liberals, cheerleaders and indie chicks, gay men who want to have sex with Tim Riggins and straight men who want to have sex with Tim Riggins. This melting pot comes together each week to watch our boys from Dillon strap on their helmets and face a rough, unloving world that only Coach and Tammy Taylor can guide them through. But now, even though "real" football is happening (though I'm pretending it isn't since the Patriots daftly traded Randy Moss for a 3rd-round draft pick this morning), it's the FNL off-season, and we're getting impatient. Luckily, we now have a bone to chew in the form of a trailer.

Unluckily, the trailer doesn't reveal anything about the coming season - the final season, premiering October 27 - other than the fact that most of our longtime-favorite characters will occupy minor roles. However, it's very stylish, and reminds audiences just how good-looking everyone in Texas must be. Besides, last season was great even if we didn't have nearly enough Lila or Tyra or Saracen. As long as coach is blowing his whistle, and Tammy Taylor's moral compass is navigating the prairie terrain, boys will be shaped into men - and audiences will be happy. For some behind-the-scenes action, and a look at Tyra's new hair color, check out this TV guide special video.
