Like the saying goes, things are bigger in Texas. And David Adickes -- sculptor, painter, octogenarian -- aims to make sure that statement stays true. He's the creator of the Presidential Parks & Gardens, located in the Waterlights District in the Greater Houston Metropolis. The park, which broke ground last President's Day, mostly consists of giant 20-foot busts of all the United States Presidents. Adickes spent 6 years creating these 42 busts after a trip to Mount Rushmore, where he wished he could get closer to the statuesque monuments.

Six busts are already on display, chosen by an online vote: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Houston native George H.W. Bush. The Obama statue is nearing completion and will be unveiled this President's Day. The park itself is scheduled to open in September; ticket fees will be nominal at $1 for adults, free for those under 12. Check out the video footage of the initial park instillation here.
