Gather your smelling salts and sit down before you read this: Mel Gibson has proven himself to be a huge racist asshole! Gibson, who is in the middle of a bitter custody dispute with ex-girlfriend and mother of his love child Oksana Grigorieva, was caught on tape saying super mean and super super racist things. For example, "You're an embarrassment to me. You look like a f***ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n*****s, it will be your fault." Mel added, "How dare you act like such a bitch when I have been so f**king nice," before concluding, "I am going to come and burn the f**king house down... but you will blow me first."

I mean, what can even be said about this? Do we live in a world in which this sort of behavior is self-evidently cartoonish and almost laughably evil and revolting? Or, do we live in a world in which this sort of behavior must be pointed out as disgusting? What do we do? Do we laugh at this pathetic caricature of a person? Or, do we dignify this garbage with a serious discussion of how it is wrong to tell someone that they will "get raped by a pack of n*****s?" Must I even point out how that is offensive to every even marginally decent sentient being on this planet?

I honestly don't know, but for some reason I feel like watching the above scene from The Patriot. Nothing to do with anger and disgust, I'm sure.
