Despite the plastic surgery, the drug problem, the boy addiction, the scariest thing about Michael Jackson was something that was perhaps the most public: his stage presence. Watching a man standing before hundreds of thousands of people, command and welcome their worship with outstretched arms and air kisses is startling. Watching that same man stand completely frozen like a Madame Tussaud figure in aviator shades and military garb for almost two minutes, amongst the roaring din of devotion, is terrifying. Heebee jeebies after the jump.
