Travelocity is sending task forces to airports around the country armed with cell phones and computers to live tweet the hell out of Thanksgiving travels, delays and updates from the front lines. The Travelocity Thanksgiving Task Force is already on the ground, sending tweets from the gates with real time updates and giveaways specific to each airport, and sometimes, terminal. Since it's only Tuesday, and the real mess of a travel day is tomorrow, the tweets are expected to get more fast and furious as the days go on.
If you're flying today, or just want to get a jump on the action for tomorrow, start with the Twitter feed, #TravelocityTTF. So far, @flyfromboston reports that lines are short in Terminal C, from the security line on down to the doughnut shop, @fly_from_ATL loves the dinosaur skeleton in the atrium, and @flyfromnewyork says the security lines for Southwest, AirTran are super long. If you follow @travelocity you can catch all the gnome contests that are flying around: send in a photo of your boarding pass-- the most exotic destination wins a gnome. Take a photo of your fellow travelers -- the grumpiest wins a gnome. Whoever tweets the best Thanksgiving joke -- wins a gnome. No word on whether or not the gnome will fit into your carry-on. Here are all the accounts tweeting updates from the airports this week: @flyfromchicago, @flyfromdallas, @flyfromla, @flyfromnewyork, @flyfromvegas, @flyfromdenver, @flyfromsf, @flyfromphoenix, @flyfromdc, @flyfromtampa, @fly_from_ATL, @flyfromboston.
