A United Airlines pilot took things too far at a security screening at the international Rio de Janeiro airport on Friday. When pilot Michael D. Slynn, 49, was asked to remove his belt and shoes to pass through metal detectors, he laughed and dropped trou. Why not?

After he lowered his pants to his ankles, Slynn was detained for a few hours before being released and allowed to fly back to Washington, D.C. He did, however, have to sign a document saying he will appear in court the next time he's in the country. The Federal Police Chief, Rafael Andreatta, said that Slynn, "did not respect security rules and made fun of officers."

Last November, another naughty United pilot tussled with authorities. Pilot Erwin Washington was arrested at Heathrow airport when authorities boarded the plane to administer a Breathalyzer test just before the plane pushed back from the gate. He was then arrested on suspicious of violating alcohol limits. Hmm, we'd much rather fly with a pantless pilot than a drunk one.
