imageUS Airways is jumping on the nickel and dime train led by JetBlue -- it will cost you $7 for a blanket and a pillow on your next flight. Though they're billing the upsell as "a natural extension of our 'pay for what you choose and use' model we began rolling out last year," I prefer to think of it as the next verse in the long, slow, keening death knell of flight perks. It's not like the previous incarnations of dubiously-clean, postage-stamp-sized-pillows were all that comfortable, but at least it was a gesture (and if you got ahold of three of 'em, it almost made one whole pillow that you could lean on).

The $7 "Power-Nap Sack" also includes eye shades, foam ear plugs, and a $10-off coupon for items in the SkyMall catalog, and it comes wrapped up in a logo-stamped drawstring bag. US Airways seems to expect there to be actual extra-planear demand for these things, so they've started selling them on their website.
