The Miss Universe pageant wrapped up last weekend with yet another Venezuelan grand prize winner. You can watch as the 2008 Venezuelan winner hands off the crown to the 2009 Venezuelan winner with much enthusiasm and tossing of crowns. It seems that Venezuela has figured out a way to beat the pageant system and continue to showcase their beauties on the world stage. This is because winning pageants for Venezuela is like winning gold medals for China -- victory at all costs. The Frisky did a roundup of the rigorous bootcamp the Venezuelan beauties go through to get to the stage. Highlights after the jump:

● Thousands of girls enter the Miss Venezuela competition, and those who are chosen go to Osmel Sousa’s “Miss Venezuela Academy,” a beauty school in the mountains. The contestants are coached in fitness, speech, makeup, and modeling. [Mirror UK] ● Contestants are always told to lose 20 pounds. They eat tuna, pineapple, and “green leaves,” and must run, lift weights, hike, swim, and do yoga every day. Weigh-ins are at the end of every week. The beauty school employs dental docs who have been known to cut girls’ gums so their teeth look bigger. [BrooklynRail.org]
