The Country Boys from Mexico took home the top honors for the Vendy Awards this weekend, clinching the title of the best food cart vendor in all of New York City. The Country Boys cart is run by Fernando and Jolanda Martinez, a hard-working couple making delicious Mexican food. If it's warm out, look for the cart at the Red Hook Ball Fields (at Clinton and Bay streets) as well as at the Brooklyn Flea (at Lafayette and Vanderbilt) on Saturdays.

In the dessert category, top honors went to the Wafles & Dinges cart, and the Rookie of the Year was awarded to Schnitzel & Things. So the top pick goes to an old-school contender, while new kids on the block get recognized as well; viva vendrification.
