Heinz Ketchup has announced plans to release a new "Dip and Squeeze" ketchup packet after over 40 years of pumping out its standard foil packages. The new packet, which holds three times more ketchup than the old model, is designed so that you can either dip into the hard plastic bottom or simply squeeze the ketchup out of the foil top. William R. Johnson, the Heinz CEO, was understandably thrilled by the new packaging, commenting: "Heinz Ketchup’s Dip & Squeeze product is just the latest milestone in our long history of packaging innovation. From the first plastic ketchup bottle to Top-Down and Fridge Door Fit, Heinz continues to lead the industry in ketchup packaging innovation." Right on William, right on. You forgot to mention, however, how incredibly American the new ketchup packet is. No longer will America's diabetic sucrose junkies need to wolf down undersized packets of ketchup. Just think how many resources these packages will save -- people will now only need to open ten ketchup packets to make a potato chip and ketchup sandwich. Innovation. Patriotism. Heinz. America.
