Bill Murray

Bill Murray has played in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am for 20 years and is always up to some goofy antics in a real-life spin on Caddyshack. One year he hula hooped on the course and today, he’s rocking a ghillie suit and what Deadspin thinks could be gardening gloves.  He also kicked a football into the crowd.  Yesterday he hugged fans, putted backwards and tickled a camera man.  And yes, there is video.

MAdonna Super Bowl

M.I.A. pulling out a middle finger during the Super Bowl half time performance seemed pretty shockingly non-shocking when compared to oh say, Janet Jackson, and every other thing M.I.A. has ever done (example:  banned videos, stalking a reporter over writing she ate a truffle fry) but its still been a hot topic.  How did Madonna feel about the whole thing?

Macaulay Culkin

You ever have those days where you sit around, all home alone and start thinking, hmmm…what is Macaulay Culkin up to?  You think this every day, right? Well, here is an update and like all child actors who emancipate themselves from their money grubbing parents and only make a few more films that are kind of weird but also awesome (see: Party Monster, Saved) and then kind of disappear from the spotlight, things are looking pretty sad.

Adele and Anderson Cooper

Adele is set to perform for the first time since her throat surgery at the Grammys this Sunday, which has everyone wondering just how she will sound. Only four months since she went under the knife, will she struggle, will her voice crack, have her vocal chords healed enough, will she burst into tears because Karl Lagerfeld called her fat all over the media?  The singer gave a preview of her performance to Anderson Cooper for an upcoming 60 Minutes and she sounds…see for yourself.

Beyonce, Blue Ivy

The first photos of celebrities’ kids can fetch big bucks from the tabloids.  Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's twins Knox Leon & Vivienne Marcheline garnered over $11 million, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s kids Max & Emme Muñiz were priced at $6 million, and someone was even willing to lay down a whopping $1 million for Britney Spears’ sister’s baby.  It’s not chump change. But instead of cashing in on Blue Ivy's pic, Beyonce and Jay-Z have chosen to release the images themselves on a Tumblr called HelloBlueIvyCarter. The shots are adorable.

Heineken Marketing Win Story

Sure, advertising makes the world go 'round, but it also makes me get up and head to the kitchen to fetch a snack. And yet, there are some commercials that are just so well done that they're actually worth watching, and Heineken's cinematic ad "The Date" certainly falls into that category. Composed of one long tracking shot that follows a rakish young hero and his sexy date as they enter a surreal banquet hall, encounter a host of strange characters, and celebrate with a couple of cold bottles of Heineken (don't they have glasses at this party?), it's marketing at its finest. And since the date looks like a lot of fun, Heineken came up with a way you can experience it yourself, sort of.

Empire Hotel Rooftop

This is going to be short and sweet - well, maybe splendid. Fashion Week is making me weak and it's just starting. I shoulda, woulda, if I coulda attended the Ami James Pop-Up Tattoo Shop thing at the Empire Hotel yesterday but I was otherwise distracted. Besides, I will be at the Empire Rooftop tomorrow night DJing, and being north of 23rd street two times in a week is... problematic for a BBurger like myself. I'm opening for the fabulous Mel DeBarge. Mel and I have a long history of being in the same room and other things more times than I care to discuss. He is a great DJ and I am honored to be mentioned in the same breath and invitation with him. Kirill is taking pictures and he somehow always manages to shoot me on my good side -not an easy accomplishment. I'm on from 9pm to 11pm, although the invite says doors open at 10pm. Either that's an error or someone has heard me DJ before or they want me to provide rhythm for the wait-rons as they set up. I'm excited about this and Fashion Week in general.
