From Samantha’s large-brimmed hats to the jewels, feathers, and flowers on Carrie’s first wedding day, the women of 'SATC' like their headgear almost as much as their belts. The hairpieces—often chic, often flirty, never subtle—actually represent the style of the women very well. Except for the blue feather thing Carrie wore with the Vivienne Westwood wedding gown. We’ll forgive and forget, this time.

A vintage, nameless suit. For a girl who wears labels and cares for her Manolo Blahniks like they were her children, I found it poetic that when Carrie finally tied the knot with Mr. Big, she didn’t wear a label. Instead, she wore a classy, white, nameless suit that very nicely established her as Mrs. John James Preston. Also, um, this isn't her.

Louise, Carrie’s assistant from St. Louis, looked just as fabulous as Bradshaw by renting her purses. In a movie where labels rule and fakes are worse than a lousy lover, this concept rocked my world. This is one tip from the movie I had to write down. A purse girl myself, rentals seem the perfect answer to my penniless love of designer bags. How come no one told me about this sooner?

Is Carrie Bradshaw bringing big flowers back? During the show, Carrie made outfits adorned with big flowers her “thing.” In her first frock of the movie, she brings returns to this particular trademark and continues wearing flowers throughout the entire two and a half hours. I like that she brought some of the thirty-something Carrie to the forty-something Carrie, and I’m glad she did so in new ways.

The $790 Dior gladiator shoe from last season. For a woman who has more than 100 pairs of shoes, Carrie wore the Dior gladiators with more outfits than anticipated. While the shoes make a statement, I think they would make a bigger statement had they remained a guest star, rather than garnering a leading role in Carrie’s wardrobe.

In an online video, Pat Fields admitted to using belts in the movie much more than she did in the show. And did she ever. Carrie’s black-and-silver spiked belt debuted in the movie more than once, while the other three ladies topped most ensembles off with belts. More often than not were there scenes with two or more of the foursome donning belts at their waists. Too much of a good thing is, well, still too much.

And everywhere else. Carrie sported long strands and layered strands all the way from the bedroom to the Vogue photo shoot. When a midnight phone call woke her up, she was still wearing the pearls. When she announced her engagement at brunch, she wore pearls. When reading love letters to Mr. Big, she wore the pearls. Are pearls the next universal accessory?
