When it comes to multitasking, few brands do it better than Acne. The Swedish fashion brand-cum-magazine-cum-creative collective has managed to stay ahead of the curve for many seasons, putting forth ensembles as interest-piquing as the interviews in their oversized bi-annual publication, Acne Paper. Hint Magazine recently spoke with Jonny Johansson mid-vacation (and mid-Metallica kick) with his family in Stockholm. Right off the bat, Johansson explains how the recession has actually been good for business.

Hint mag has a first look at Acne's pre-Spring collection, and the first word that comes to mind is "party." There are mini-dresses with plenty of tulle under their skirts, perfect for dancing into the wee hours. Also plenty of bows (including a giant leather version). As for footwear there are pairs of platforms accented with bright red pom-poms. Also on Acne's agenda for early 2010: no pants, though the collection features a pair of denim hot pants sure to help further the anti-trouser movement.

At a London presentation this week of looks from the FW09 collection of Acne -- the Swedish label synonymous with drainpipe denim -- a brand-new collaboration was likewise on display. The multi-faceted creative brand has in the past teamed up with the likes of Lanvin and Bianchi, but the new partnering in question is that of a jewelry collaboration with seasoned German designer Michael Zobel, founder and creative force behind Atelier Zobel (as well as the father of one of the designers behind Acne).
