Forbes trotted out a "Most Toxic" survey, and proudly crowned Atlanta the Queen of Dirty, with Detroit coming in as runner up (can they ever be the best at anything?), and Houston, Chicago, and Philly rounding out the top five. And by "toxic" they don't mean backstabbing and trash talking, so unfortunately they're not referencing NeNe, Kim, Lisa, Kandi, or Sheree. Instead, the survey focuses on air quality and the amount of toxic chemicals released into the water and air in the metro areas. Atlanta takes the top spot because of its dirty immediate neighbors -- Forbes is quick to point the finger at Sandy Springs (holla Sheree!) and Marietta.

My title doesn't refer to the lowly Atlanta Braves baseball team, who host the lowly New York Mets, in a game that seemed to be important back in April but is now as meaningless as the word "justice" in Georgia's capital city. Atlanta's having lots of image problems. First, Michael Vick, their star quarterback, makes headlines for the torture and murder of dogs, then native son Kanye West goes whacko in front of the entire world, and now at least 15 police officers raid a gay club and handcuff, hold, and harass 62 patrons for over an hour. Some are held for many hours. I'm not visiting Atlanta anytime soon. Nor should anyone, until they get this gay raid thing straight.

● WaterHaven (Midtown) - Affordable farm-to-table eats and organic treats appeal to both the foodie and patchouli sets.
● Shoya Japanese Restaurant (Tucker) - A Japanese tapas and booze joint with wood paneling and pubby ambience.

● Tiny Bistro (Westside) - Hidden, cozy lunch spot serving sandwiches stacked with awesomeness.
● 30 Tables (Downtown) - Hip boutique hotel restaurant pimps breakfast, lunch, dinner, and full bar.

● Abattoir (Westside) - Foodie all-stars create whole animal cuisine in former slaughterhouse.

● Varasano's Pizzeria - (Buckhead) Former engineer's quest for perfect pie results in specialty pizzas worth a try.
