A BlackBook favorite NYC nightlife hotspot, GoldBar—the opulent, infamous Nolita lounge—celebrates two years tonight, with owners Jamie Mullholland, Jayma Cardosa and Rob McKinley leading the festivities. Even if you've stumbled in late-night, lured by the hum of music from behind the decadent front doors, heavy-draped velvet curtains, and near constant stream of onlookers and lines outside, you'd remember the place. With walls covered in gold skulls, gold chains separating the bar from the dance floor, and our favorite DJ's situated in the semi-secret booth in the back, Goldbar always delivers a memorable night, and lives on triumphantly after two good years.

We're extraordinarily pleased to welcome Grayle Howlett as the new president and publisher of BlackBook Media. After an extensive search and interviews with a great many candidates sporting a commendable breadth of skills, Howlett made the choice easy by rising above an impressive field. His unique blend of big-brand accomplishment and startup tenacity make him ideally suited for BlackBook, and his resume speaks for itself.
We're very pleased to welcome Bryce Longton to the newly created position of travel editor at BBook.com. Bryce comes to us from Dwell, where she served as marketing manager for the magazine as well as for Dwell.com and the Dwell On Design Conference. Before that, she worked on the west coast at both Saturday Night magazine and Travel Age West. Bryce will take point on efforts to leverage the burgeoning BlackBook Guides into a global force. Her considerable skills as a writer, editor, and jack-of-all trades will be much in demand as we continue our expansion across a variety of platforms in print, mobile, and online.
