Beauty and the Booze: How to Apply Makeup While Drunk

Beauty and the Booze: How to Apply Makeup While Drunk There are a number of helpful tips outlining how to fix your face the morning after a major drink-a-thon, but what about fixing yourself when you couldn't blush a straight line, much less walk one? The issue in question usually arises whilst one is elbow deep in some after-work margs at Rosa Mexicana, at which point furthering the fun from an after-work activity into an after-dawn affair seems like a very good idea. Not even the heinous sight of your tequila swollen face, still hanging on to the last remnants of the foundation you applied before 8am, and runny mascara, could deter you from meeting boys for even more tequila at Cantina Latina. This drunk makeup dilemma usually occurs during one of these occasions: you've accidentally have one too many vodka red bulls while curling your hair before a night out, you've decided during a round of shots that this after-work cocktail session needs to head to the club, or you've somehow managed to see straight long enough to catch a glimpse of yourself in a shard of mirror clinging to the bathroom wall of some dive in Chinatown. Fear not Beauty Junkie, there's an app(lication) for that.

We Like to Watch: Melonie Diaz of ‘Nip/Tuck’

We Like to Watch: Melonie Diaz of ‘Nip/Tuck’ In early 2008, Melonie Diaz flew to Park City, Utah, for her coronation. With a schedule-busting four films in competition, she was ready to accept her crown as the queen of Sundance. “It was incredibly flattering, but incredibly tiring. I was supposed to present at the closing awards, but being up at seven doing press every day and then going to bed at four, I got sick!” says the diminutive actress of her whirlwind experience at the festival. While there, she was promoting Michel Gondry’s Be Kind Rewind (with Jack Black and Mos Def), Andrew Fleming’s Hamlet 2 (opposite Steve Coogan and fellow Sundance royal Catherine Keener), American Son (co-starring Nick Cannon) and Assassination of a High School President (featuring a pre-breakdown Mischa Barton).

Fashion Week Forecast: Buy Beauty for Both Seasons

Fashion Week Forecast: Buy Beauty for Both Seasons One of the best things about modern technology is its immediacy. Last night I knew where I needed to be that second to see Daria and Lily having a dance off for Fashion's Night Out thanks to Twitter (they were cutting a rug at Indochine). Likewise, the instantaneous photo uploads from the runways help me plan ahead, save money, and invest in the right beauty products. To really squeeze my dollar, I usually wait to do any kind of fall shopping until fashion week is over, so I can get a good look at what the spring shows boast, in order have some insight into what trends will last. Though the shows have only recently commenced, I've already made a short list of beauty trends that seem to be transcending seasons. Here's a preview what to buy now, judging from the runway faces that will make the easiest transition from winter to spring.
