David Foote: Products as Art

David Foote: Products as Art David Foote, Venezuelan artist about town, is embarking on his next exploration: the vast world of consumerism. He’s bringing high art to a city near you -- large metropolises and one-horse towns alike. All through the magic that is the Internets. Pairing with names such as: Marianella Soaps, Izola, Barterhouse Wines, KCDC Skateshop, Alternative Apparel, Ortolan, Tuleste Jewelery, Timo Neckwear, 4FRNT Skis, and design boutique Bo Concept, David Foote released the Limited Edition No. 10 collection in Bo Concept retail locations and online.

Robin Williams Crashes Party for Timo’s Neckwear

Robin Williams Crashes Party for Timo’s Neckwear Hey, remember that kid in high school who you were all like, "wow, they’re really going to be something someday?" And maybe you were sorta jealous but not really, because you were going to be something too, right? Then one day, you bump into them on the street and they are totally married to, like, Paul Rudd and hanging out with Brangelina, and their TV show is doing really well, and maybe they’ve discovered a cure for diabetes, and you’re like, okay, that was fast. Neckwear, with a few hundred of his nearest and dearest (Robin Williams, with son Zach), while his talent hung blindingly bright from every corner of the Phillips de Pury and Company building. We’re not jealous though, cuz we totally have our own line coming out soon too.

David Foote, Artist (in) Res-i-dence David Foote seems to be the character representation of his art. Scratch a bit at that surface and you’ll find and interesting juxtaposition, a slight exploration of darkness with a solicitous interior and spectacular call for detail. His work “The New Girls” is simple in its conception of graphic female faces. But darkness is in the details: the macabre looks, vacant eyes, and tiny slugs scrawled in the hair of his intrepid beauties.
