With consumer spending in a downturn, there's no time like the present for fashion designers to start spending their hard earned salaries. And on what else on, but clothes? A source says Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana threw down serious green at rival fashion house Lanvin. They were at Lanvin's Paris flagship store last week and blew through more than $50K. I can't help but wonder two things: What did they buy? And don't they design menswear? Maybe they were buying goodies for their girlfriends (I kid).
