After watching the duo give a lecture on “how to cheapen your couture” at an event they call Glambulance at 92YTribeca in downtown Manhattan, they sat down with me for a vibrantly colorful chat.

Robert Pattinson was here in New York for a while, where, like a mirage of tousled sex, he dodged fans while flitting from hotel to bar to hotel. ● Pearl Street Diner (West Village) - According to this man’s Twitter account and this blogger’s mobile photos, the no-fuss West Village eatery was closed on July 15 when it became a filming location for Pattinson’s new movie. When asked for comment, Pearl’s cooks said, “We’ll never wash our hands again.”

Ancient rockers Don Hill and Nicki Camp will celebrate their birthdays at a "gala event" at -- you guessed it -- Don Hill's. They're saying it's a gala event because gala is only two syllables and four letters and they're getting very old. They're not Steve Lewis old, but very old indeed. Don has been around since before The Beatles (not the band, the species). As owner of Don Hill's, he's involved with booking the bands, hiring staff, community relations and PR, lighting, sound, and hell, at the end of the night he sweeps out the joint. I spent a year there last night talking to Don, Nicki, and my pal Mark Lewis. We talked about olden days and old friends alive and dead while I waited on a death metal band called Humanity Falls that I had promised to check out.

It’s hard to stand out in a city populated by naked cowboys, that screeching guy who wears bird feathers and bells in Union Square, and Mike Nelson. But when the ships dock in New York for Fleet Week and its annual Memorial Day celebration, the Coast Guard and Navy mariners dressed head-to-toe in their white, starched uniforms aren’t exactly subtle. That said, a handy how-to on nabbing seamen might be helpful. (Full disclosure: They’re everywhere!)

Michael H walks, talks, acts and totally looks like a rock star. He is the lead singer of an all-star band that played last night at Greenhouse and Michael is also killing it with a clothing line. It’s so reminiscent of my glory days at Max’s Kansas City that I wish I weighed 135 pounds again and was dating Jeannie Luvullo from Irvington, New Jersey. Greenhouse on Monday is my new Snitch Monday. When that party died a year ago, I simply didn’t have a place to get up for, but now I won’t miss this. I visited Michael Alig up in the big house yesterday with my assistant Nadeska. I told Michael that the scene is as vibrant now as it ever was, but he was doubtful. I told him it's true, but with a big difference -- it isn't organized under one flag.
