Downtown prepster mainstay Steven Alan is expanding its empire. In addition to the quintessential collared shirt and various other straightforward wardrobe staples, Steven Alan will soon be home to handbags. The retailer, which has outposts in NYC and California, is launching a capsule handbag collection come fall. The totes will be available in six different styles, all of which boast a distinctly equestrian vibe. "Classic shapes, such as hobos, satchels and shoulder bags, all feature bridled leather and brass hardware," says Women's Wear Daily.

Beware of the Jersey Shore endorsements. On the tail end of announcements that JWoWW will debut her very own clothing line--barely-there tops for ladies and a little something for guys too to be included--word has it she's the new face for a cosmetics line. "J-Woww, the attitude-slinging, fake boob-having member of the cast of MTV's Jersey Shore, hosted a little party for a new line of cosmetic creams from Dr. Stephen T. Greenberg, a line awkwardly named 'Cosmetic Surgeon in a Jar'," says Racked.

When it rains it pours. Such is the case for photographer Terry Richardson. The perpetually flannel-clad provocateur was first confronted with allegations of skeevy misconduct while on set last week by Danish supermodel Rie Rasmussen. After running into Richardson in Paris and accusing him of sexual harassment, the story was picked up by numerous outlets. Then BlackBook contributor Jamie Peck leveled similar complaints (specifics included a hand job, talk of tampons and Richardson asking Peck to call him 'Uncle Terry'). Jezebel subsequently asked its audience for similar stories in hopes of getting a more substantive sense of just how far Richardson has taken sexual harassment in the past. The responses haven't been flattering.

Sarah Palin--one of the most polarizing women in the country--has surfaced this week with a dramatic new 'do. The style, something that seems to meld 60s bouffant and mullet (yes, it's as bad as it sounds), is likely to cause as many adverse reactions as Palin's politics. "If you ever needed proof that Sarah Palin is totally going bald, feast your eyes upon this confection, courtesy of the Roadside Mulletry and House Of Hair Hats," Wonkette's caption of Palin's recent appearance on Fox News reads.

Following bust-centric catwalk presentations this FW2010 Fashion Week from Prada to Marc Jacobs, fashion critics have proclaimed it the season of the boob. Perhaps it's a reaction to breasts generally getting larger? Or, at least according to sales in the bra department at Selfridge's recently. Regardless, a slew of Victoria Secret models on high-fashion runways this past season proved that above the waist it's fashionable to have a bit more bulk. And, according to Cathy Horyn in the New York Times today, that goes for below the waist as well.

Lady Gaga isn't exactly known for aspirational fashion. Take her latest video for "Telephone": the likelihood that her caution tape-made, barely there one-piece or cigarette shades are going to inspire shoppers to seek out the same seems unlikely. (Though, Madonna did inspire an entire generation to wear rosaries as jewelry.) But, one beloved article of clothing sitting in Gaga's wardrob is a bit more attainable: her YURI glasses, courtesy of German optics company Mykita.

It's been 2 years since Henry Holland first announced he'd team with Levi's to create a men's and women's denim capsule collection. Fast forward to today and images from his latest installation for the classic denim brand has been released. If there's one word the looks immediately bring to mind, it's bondage. Leigh Lezark of the Misshapes plays mannequin for the line's look book that includes midriff baring striped tees and slightly washed denim tricked out with multiple buckles.

It's that time of year again: CFDA's Fashion Fund Award Nominees are out, and the entire lot is a familiar one. Condé Nast is reporting a bizarre split taking place under its own roof. W, the fashion and culture magazine founded by Fairchild Publications (which was in turn purchased by Condé Nast), is leaving Fairchild's umbrella and will now be overseen exclusively by Condé Nast. The shift is especially surprising given the fact that Women's Wear Daily, which was also founded by Fairchild and accordingly swooped up by Condé Nast, shares not only writers and editors with the magazine, but content as well. But the move seems to be affecting the latter much more than the former.
