Thompson screening afterparty, I couldn’t keep from wondering if one could have found Thompson here, stabbing away on a typewriter, shuffling through Rolling Stone and Sports Illustrated in one of his brilliant altered states. Gradient Mag @ W New York Downtown Hotel and Residences Mix any magazine release party with V1 Private Jets and the modish W New York Downtown Hotel and Residences, and the product is always a fashionable fete. We should have known better this Tuesday night, as we arrived to the Gradient Magazine launch party in our abysmal work garb, only to find a crowd of impossibly chic party-goers posing for Patrick McMullan on the red carpet. As Annabel Vartanian, Emma Snowdon-Jones, and "Gossip Girl" designer Abigail Lorick, put our outfits to shame with their frothy summer dresses, we are compelled to turn on our heels and head for home. But naturally, we are lured in to the downtown fashion parade, with the Patron sponsored bar persuading us to stay even later for the real fashion show, Michael Frido’s red carpet interviews for "Fame Is TV."

Kristian Laliberte Hacks Away at his Facebook Foe Over the weekend, New York PR scenester, and upcoming reality TV star, Kristian Laliberte's Facebook account was hacked into, and the still unknown hacker sent a series of personal and offensive messages throughout his online network. This intrusion came weeks after Laliberte's Gmail account was broken into. Now, apparently, whoever did this is threatening to print out the incriminating email messages, which he or she will then hand deliver to the people mentioned in them. Yesterday, Page Six Magazine's Joshua David Stein reported on his blog that Laliberte was responsible for leaking stories about New York socialite Olivia Palermo, among others, to the press. It's a dicey position for someone in PR, to be sure. But, Laliberte stands by the claim that these messages have been doctored by someone with too much time on their hands.
