Time is just an arbitrary concept when you’re a rapper -- for example, an 8 p.m. concert really means 8-ish, which really means 9:30-ish. But all can be forgiven when the rapper in question happens to be Ludacris, and the reason he happened to be late was that he needed time to round up all his friends so he could show New York how to really throw a party. The Southern rapper put on a private concert last night at the Highline Ballroom, hosted by Hot 97, to perform the entirety of his new LP Theater of The Mind. At least that’s what our fancy VIP laminated passes said. But Luda knows people want hits, which is why the “whole album” was just three songs from it, including “Everybody Hates Chris,” a banger with the catchy chorus “Fuck you Luda!” The crowd joyfully shouted it back and flipped birds in the air (he was an hour and a half late, after all).
