Point of Origin: I moved to New York in 1996 to be an actor. I started working at Coffee Shop. I was a bar back and I didn't know anything. I was just a kid from Philly. I started bartending, worked at a lot of hotel bars: 60 Thompson, the Hudson, and subMercer right when it opened. I remember that was the first place where cocktails were $15. Nowadays if you're not charging $15 a drink you're nothing, but back then it was like a science experiment. My voice would always choke when I told a guy he owed me $30 for two drinks.

Perez Gets Older, Over ‘The Hills’

imageOn Saturday, K-Y Brand sponsored the 30th birthday celebration of a blogger called Perez Hilton at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. Comedienne Amanda Bynes showed up, as did “The Hills” thespians Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. No word on how many takes they needed to get Perez’s bonne fête just right.

Perez Spends ‘One Night in Austin’

imageRiffing off of his namesake’s skin flick, “Queen of All Media” Perez Hilton hosted “One Night in Austin” at Palm Door (which itself might be riffing off of the Cannes award—actually, scratch that, we’re in Texas). In addition to headlining guests Robyn and N.E.R.D., the show featured web darling Katy Perry and preppy boy band Chester French (who Perez claims to have discovered), as well as Dragonette, Riskay, and Ultraviolet Sound.
