Simian Mobile Disco played the Free Yr Radio party at La Zona Rosa last week, along with Times New Viking and Yeasayer. Free cornbread and beans were served before the show. Seriously.

SXSW is one of the coolest festivals in the world, and the Levi’s/Fader Lou Reed Tribute Party was expected to be the best party at the festival. We figured we’d see for ourselves. Late last week, after braving parallel lines around the block from the venue, we did battle with the sweaty crowd to watch Lou Reed perform alongside Moby, Thurston Moore, Yo La Tengo, and My Morning Jacket. Southern Comfort was free, in more ways than one.
