Henry Holland Teams with Levi’s, May Move to NYC

Henry Holland Teams with Levi’s, May Move to NYC Henry Holland has been busy this year. The designer -- a "one-man self-marketing wiz" as Style.com phrased it following House of Holland's entertaining SS10 runway show -- is locking down a few big-name collaborations, not to mention perhaps planning a cross-Atlantic move. "I just did a collaboration with Levi’s that will be in stores in February," Holland told Women's Wear Daily at the recent launch of the second annual Six Scents Series, which he hosted. Holland told WWD his Levi's line "will include men's and women's jeans, jackets, dresses and tops." For the Six Scents Series -- a limited-edition collection of six fragrances customized by as many fashion designers (Holland included) -- the designer said he wanted to create something that "suggested friends gathered on an overstuffed purple couch" (e.g. flowers like lilac and mimosa).

Fast Times at Topshop

Fast Times at Topshop In the UK, Mark Fast is synonymous with knitwear. And as of this past London Fashion Week, he's also known for causing quite a bit of controversy as a result of casting a handful of plus-size models for his runway show. (His body-conscious dresses call to mind a spiderweb in terms of complex construction.) But this week, Fast is grabbing headlines for a different reason: the Canadian designer is the latest to be tapped by Topshop to design a capsule collection.

What Topshop, The Sartorialist & McQueen Have In Common

Topshoppers everywhere can rejoice as today is the day that Christopher Kane's wares hit the store's racks (the mirror leggings, mesh sandals and crocodile tee and dress are bound to be especially huge hits). But the mega retailer also has another installation in the works that's worth celebrating. The Topshop Edit Boutique, which first debuted in February, is back for the next 16 weeks. Essentially the shop works like an art exhibit with curated works, but the artwork in question includes clothing and accessories from designers like KTZ, White Trumpet and NAKKNA. While the boutique will set up shop in Topshop's UK and NYC stores, the latter will feature a fraction of the designs to be featured across the pond.

Crystal Renn: A Plus-Sized Model’s Pocket-Sized Guide to New York

Crystal Renn: A Plus-Sized Model’s Pocket-Sized Guide to New York Crystal Renn used to be starving. When she came to New York City for the first time, she didn't head to Serendipity or grab a slice from Grimaldi's like most bright eyed newbies do; she had lettuce, plain, from a nameless salad bar in the theater district. She lived in the greatest city in the world, too weak and obsessed with being thin to enjoy it. In her new book, Hungry, Renn describes her world before and after she decided to let go of oppressive dieting to become one of the most successful plus-sized models in the world. She pours over her struggles with body image, her industry, and the stigma of labels within the modeling world, but she still won't talk about that first slice of New York City pizza. Today, Renn walks the same city streets, but she lives in a totally different universe: one where she can have a beer in Williamsburg and buy Size-12 leggings without feeling as though her waist or food is "sacrificing chicness or quality." Here are the places around town Crystal Renn enjoys, now that she's truly living life.

New York City Itinerary: Hard Times with Paul Iacono

New York City Itinerary: Hard Times with Paul Iacono “Who would have thought that a show about a guy with a big dick would become such a hot commodity?” says Paul Iacono, as he passes a giant billboard for HBO’s Hung, the word “Ho” plastered across Thomas Jane’s face. Never mind the overlap, this season, the 21- year-old writer-actor will play RJ in MTV’s Hard Times, a series about a young loner with, according to Iacono, “a massive, massive penis -- but the show’s main organ is its heart.” He also stars in this month’s “reinvention” of Fame, a role for which he’s visibly grateful. But while strolling through his favorite East Village haunts (see our behind-the-scenes video), he’s just been informed that the film’s rating has gone from PG-13 to PG. “My character now says, ‘It was everything I hoped for and more, except for the part where I’m still a virgin -- technically,’ instead of, ‘I was supposed to get laid.’ But,” he adds, grinning, “At least I get to drop my pants on TV.”

Diffusion Lines by the Dozen: Teva Heels!

Diffusion Lines by the Dozen: Teva Heels! Apparently the fashion industry is being plagued by a diffusion line epidemic: in just under a week the likes of Temperley, Rag & Bone, Grey Ant, and Thom Browne have announced that they'll launch lower-priced lines. Temperley, whose dresses can typically retail for over $1,000, is launching a lower-priced line whose price tags will start at a relative mere $57. Of Rag & Bone's new cheaper offshoot that launches this spring, The Cut says, "the rag & bone/JEAN line will include three styles of jeans in eight colorways while rag & bone/SHIRT will include seven styles, each in three colorways. The new lines wholesale for $70 to $80 while the main line wholesales for $60 to $860."

More Kate Moss & Makeup for Topshop

More Kate Moss & Makeup for Topshop Looks from Kate Moss' FW09 collection for Topshop are here. The Telegraph has a six-image slideshow of some of the goods. And while a number of the bohemian-meets-Studio 54 styles are typical of Moss' designer repertoire, surprisingly there are a few looks that border on the unwearable (save for shoppers with supermodel figures). One of the latter is a pair of wide-legged, high-waisted shorts that likely won't compliment many body types. But as for the looks that are sure to fly off racks: a striped, knit mini dress, a faux fur jacket, a leather mini skirt, and a see-thru, Rodarte-esque knit top as well as a super short black dress complete with studded shoulders.

First Look: Christopher Kane + Topshop

[UPDATE: Apparently the images were leaked early, so the Topshoppers asked us and everyone else to take 'em down till September. Stay tuned.] The roster of designers signing up for collaborations with major retailers has grown exponentially, with a number of industry heavyweights stepping up to the partnership plate. Latest on the list: Christopher Kane, who has linked up again with Brit high street megastore Topshop. An Irish designer, schooled at Central Saint Martins, Kane has been front and center in the fashion industry in recent years thanks to a slew of successful collections (his SS09, for instance, sold out on Net-a-Porter within hours of hitting the site's virtual racks). Not to mention he recently partnered with Versace for the Versus collaboration. But, back to Topshop.
