Fashion Week Forecast: Buy Beauty for Both Seasons

Fashion Week Forecast: Buy Beauty for Both Seasons One of the best things about modern technology is its immediacy. Last night I knew where I needed to be that second to see Daria and Lily having a dance off for Fashion's Night Out thanks to Twitter (they were cutting a rug at Indochine). Likewise, the instantaneous photo uploads from the runways help me plan ahead, save money, and invest in the right beauty products. To really squeeze my dollar, I usually wait to do any kind of fall shopping until fashion week is over, so I can get a good look at what the spring shows boast, in order have some insight into what trends will last. Though the shows have only recently commenced, I've already made a short list of beauty trends that seem to be transcending seasons. Here's a preview what to buy now, judging from the runway faces that will make the easiest transition from winter to spring.

Tommy Hilfiger Nixes Nuptials

imageI'm shocked! Apparently the extravagantly planned mergers & acquisitions deal -- er, I mean wedding -- between Tommy Hilfiger and Dee Ocleppo is off the table. According to Page Six, the pair were planning to marry at Hilfiger's swanky Mustique digs this Friday and follow up with a larger celebration for friends at The Plaza in October. Not anymore!

Todd Oldham Likes Flowers, Moms

Todd Oldham Likes Flowers, Moms I don't care much for flowers, mostly because they wilt and die like my hamster in first grade, who killed himself by gnawing through the cords underneath my mom's oven. I found this out, years later, at my high school graduation. In grade one, I was told Butter had taken leave to sojourn through a local park. And that's why I love lying moms, miss Butter, and swallow my aversion to bouquets—these ones especially. This Mother's Day season (the promotion of which began about 11 months ago), FTD, in partnership with Vera Wang and Todd Oldham, has created a whole garden of arrangements for the woman whose uterus you holed up in for a few months. In addition, they're promoting 12 bouquets as part of an eco-friendly flower line. Pictures of Oldham's Mother's Day collection after the jump!
