The stigma surrounding shopping malls is dissipating. Shopping chain stores and slurping down a Jamba Juice in the process is garnering newfound acceptance as a sartorial pastime. And apparently it's a movement of which Justin Timberlake is a fan. Back in September, the pop star-turned-fashion designer announced for that William Rast, the clothing line he founded alongside Trace Ayala, would soon be setting up its first freestanding shop (which is now newly opened at the Westfield Century City mall in Los Angeles). Apparently the next 40-50 William Rast stores opening between now and 2010 will be in malls as well.

Victoria Secret has announced it will add five fresh faces to its line-up of genetically superior mannequins this season. The models in question: Emanuela de Paula, Lindsay Ellingson, Candice Swanepoel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Chanel Iman. Iman is no doubt the most recognizable of the group, but having been added to the Victoria Secret roster gives the aforementioned models as good a chance as any to becoming household names as well (especially considering, according to Fashionologie, such contracts typically are signed for three years). Victoria's Secret is gearing up to tape its much-anticipated annual runway show November 19.

I wasn't born a girlie girl -- my healthy interest in body shimmer, lingerie, and pink frilly things sprang up somewhere between climbing birch trees and placing orders from the Victoria's Secret catalog. If it wasn't an instinctual progression, then I'd have to say my education came from said catalog, a pamphlet of ultimate girlishness and indulgence. The brand is like a giant slumber party -- playing with makeup, putting on fashion shows, talking about boys -- but for grown-up girls, only the guests are the most beautiful women in the world. These slumber party guests, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Marissa Miller, and Heidi Klum, are more than willing to share their secrets to getting sexy, whether you admit you want to know or not. Yesterday, Ambrosio was doing the slumber party thing at Victoria's Secret uptown, and she brought Lindsay Lohan to help celebrate the launch of Ambrosio's fragrance Velvet, a warm amber/blackberries/rose scent.

Twitter is pretty good for a lot of things: procrastination, sharing mobile uploads with total strangers, stalking Victoria's Secret models. As much as we like to pass time poring over @mrjoezee's barrage of tweets, Twitter can be a viable source of user-created information, and at the forefront of the tipsters, over-sharers, and experts are beauty junkies spilling word-on-the-street information. Some are total duds (contests, promotions, PR scams), but some are in dire need of being rounded up and corralled in a post that's a little less schizophrenic than Twitter. The inspiration came from @JessaBlades, a makeup artist and organic beauty guru who recommended that @BlackBook_Media should try an organic skin perfector. To make a long story short, I fell in love with the product, and I would have never known about the little miracle stick without this tweeter spilling her beauty secrets.

Quick, ladies, off with that bra! Looks like Victoria's real secret is that their bras are cruel tools of punishment, giving unlucky ladies rashes, hives, and scarring. The culprits are the "Angels Secret Embrace" and "Very Sexy Extreme Push-Up" (these names!). Anyway, in a clip from Good Morning America, Roberta Ritter dishes on a lawsuit she filed against the company alleging the supports gave her welts and blisters due to a certain unwelcome preservative more commonly found in funeral homes.

Hey, this week isn't half bad! First, yesterday, NYSE chatterboxes smiled all day from the trading floor, reporting ... well, not totally bad news per se, while traders wandered around almost bored because the Dow wasn't in a hellish free-fall. Today, we hear that frilly underthings company Victoria's Secret is expanding. Yes, a silver lining my friends! According to reports, VS bought Lounge at Broadway and Houston to build a 24,000 square-foot flagship store, set to open in 2009.
