Good news for people who love to clean and love to read and love to read about cleaning! Jolie Kerr, the beloved Clean Person behind The Hairpin's Ask a Clean Person column has a big fancy book on the way. The title? The super subtle My Boyfriend Barfed in My Handbag...And Other Questions You Can't Ask Martha. The tome will soon head to a bookstore near you.
The news comes from Publishers Marketplace, which, of course, is a subscription-based website. A screenshot of the release with the details can be seen below:

Ms. Kerr has received plenty of high praises from those who take her sassy, familial advice column as a direct antecedent to the more solemn, old-school world of cleaning enthusiasts. (Yes, I am sure that such a world exists.) Her column is fresh, helping those who might be too embarrassed to ask their moms how to clean up red wine stains or vomit, and Kerr delivers her advice in a non-judgmental way. BlackBook made mention of Ms. Kerr in our profile of Hairpin founder and editor Edith Zimmerman from our December/January New Regime issue:
I knew that Jolie Kerr was obsessed with cleaning and had funny things to recommend. And she loves cooking and stuff. And I'm not trying to take credit for her cleaning column, but I think if you go back into the emails that we were exchanging six months ago, it would be like, "Jolie, oh my god, you should write a cleaning column." And she was like, "Oh my god, I want to write a cleaning column!" [Update: Wait, no, it happened because of Tyler Coates, and I wasn't actually involved at all!] I don't really solicit as much as I know people who are talented, and I want to smush them into the right fit.
Hm, is this where I mention my personal bias? Yes, Ms. Kerr is a dear friend, but we're all excited nonetheless. And hey, can't I use this space to make it known that I expect a portion of her book advance? JK. A thank you note attached to a box of OxiClean will do!
