This will be the weirdest trailer you will watch this weekend, I promise: The Brick House is a live-action, modern-day version of the Three Little Pigs story starring actors wearing pig and wolf costumes. And it's about property development, of all things.
This is not the Three Little Pigs tale you heard in kindergarten: the three Pig brothers Jack, Curly and Bill are reunited when their deceased uncle leaves them a dilapidated country home, which they decide to spruce up and sell. Enter the wolves, who are — of course — shiesty property developers.
Honestly, The Brick House looks like it could be terrrrible. (I'm sorry, but prosthetic pig noses?!) But fair is fair: the film deserves some kudos for being made on a super-low $10,000 budget by a collective of Tulsa, Oklahoma filmmakers. The production company Pocket Full Of All Stars cast its local actors through Craigslist, filmed in Tulsa locations, and raised their funding through a Kickstarter campaign (with a boost from Reddit).
Say what you will about the pig noses — that's an origin tale that blows the house down.
